In Family Time, Travel/Arizona

Last week Jax and I hopped in the car and headed downtown to the Arizona Science Center where we hopped an elevator to the third floor and stepped out into the ancient Roman city of Pompeii.

Pompeii, The Exhibition will run through May 28 and is worth finding the time to visit. It’s pretty surreal to stand amongst the ancient artifacts that belonged in a society that met a tragic end and spent centuries and centuries under volcanic ash. It is astounding how well preserved everything is, many of the items looked brand new and could even be common place in this day and age.

Jax is only 5 years-old and at times the exhibit was a little too mature for her but she too, was curious, asking many questions and taking in the artifacts. We were able to get a Pompeii Pack which is a backpack containing modern day items to use as comparison to the artifacts, and flash cards to make the experience understandable to the little ones.

Take a look at some of the highlights of the exhibit. And then head over to my Instagram page for a chance to win a family four pack of tickets to check out Pompeii, The Exhibition.
