The dessert table was my favorite part of Jax’s mermaid party. I think it turned out so cute and made for a visually effective focal point.
The cake, cupcakes and frosted cookies all were from Cathy’s Cookie Creations. Cathy is the sweetest woman and does amazing (and delicious) work. She is also very affordable and easy to work with. If you are local to the greater Phoenix area I HIGHLY recommend her.
The ocean/water backdrop is from Party City and I made the jellyfish myself. I found the mermaid statues at from Hobby Lobby (purchased on clearance) and the clam shell pedestal bowl at Home Goods.
Of course the menu had to match the theme. Guests noshed on Seashell Pasta Salad, Beach SANDwiches and watermelon I (tried) to style to look like an octopus, although when I look at this picture a frog comes to mind.
I also served Seaweed Dip (spinach artichoke dip) and Sea Cucumbers.
Drift Wood (pretzel sticks) and Mermaid Sidekicks (goldfish crackers).
Sand Dollar Cookies (Cathy’s Cookie Creations).
And Ocean Water Punch to wash it all down. I loved the color of this drink. I simply mixed Berry Blue Typhoon Hawaiian Punch with lemonade until I achieved my desired hue and added some seltzer water to tame the sweetness and add some fizz.
I’m pretty sure Miss Jax had a spectacular and memorable third birthday party. And I certainly had a blast planning it.
Well, that’s all folks. Thanks for stopping by for Jax’s third birthday mermaid bash!
Seriously, how is this girl already 3?!?!?!?!
