Friends, I have solved the age old question: Why did the chicken cross the road? Answer: To get to The Chicken Scoop in Scottsdale.
Opened for just a couple months in the Scottsdale Promenade shopping plaza, The Chicken Scoop offers 14 different flavors of chicken salad ranging from classic to curried. You can order these flavors in a variety of ways, on a bed of greens, or in a sandwich or you can simply order one, two or three scoops and enjoy it with buttery crackers.
They also offer a variety of side salads, entree salads, a few soups and if chicken salad isn’t your thing (we can’t be friends), they have several sandwich options of the non-chicken salad kind.
I loved the Southwest Chicken Salad in a Melted Scoop Toastie sandwich. The mildly spicy blend of all-white meat chicken, jalapeños, cheddar and southwest seasoning was delicious between two slices of toasted bread. I like to add pepper jack cheese for a little extra kick and always order a side of the loaded baked potato salad to make for a perfect lunch!
As you may know chicken salad is a staple in the southern US and the owners hail from Dixieland so they know what they are doing. Their southern hospitality really shines with the mini banana pudding cups that come with every meal at The Chicken Scoop. It’s the perfect little bit of sweet comfort that is guaranteed to make you smile.
The space is bright and airy, a hip mix of casual country chic and urban charm. It’s a perfect spot for ladies who lunch or dinner with the family.
You can order any flavor or chicken salad to go by the half pound or pound. And they offer catering, perfect for a birthday gathering, baby shower or corporate luncheon.
