Already I know 2014 is going to be full of change and the biggest is our home!
We are moving.
We have lived in our current house for just over two years and had planned to stay much, much longer. But things don’t always go as planned….
When we found this house it was everything I wanted in a home. Spacious. Great neighborhood. Close to my family. Mature but updated. Excellent, central location. The list went on and on why I loved this house.
And I became even more attached because barely a week after we moved in I found out I was pregnant. Within the walls of this abode I learned that my heart’s greatest desire had been granted. I carried Jacquelyn in this house, it provided me with comfort and warmth and shelter while my body provided the same for her. We brought our days old baby home to this house. She knows it so well, she wanders around every room like she owns the place. It’s the only home she has ever known.
I have been doing research on moving with a toddler. I am stressing over the change and huge disruption in her life. From what I have learned I am waaaay over-worrying. Jacquelyn likely won’t even miss a beat. She’ll like make the transition better than we will.
The new house is great. It met all our search criteria, but it isn’t this house. I guess I am just reluctant for change and overly sentimental.
It’s a new beginning. A place to create new memories. I have to keep remembering this.
Oh, and I might be so reluctant because have you ever tried packing with a rambunctious toddler underfoot?
What. A. Nightmare.
Her favorite thing is to lay on the boxes. Get in the boxes. Climb on the boxes. Unpack the boxes. And just generally create more chaos in the already chaotic clutter.
Good times.
This is an exciting change for 2014! I’m sure it will all work out. You need a toddler box (one that the little one can pack and unpack on their own – aka: stuffies, toys).
Wishing you a smooth transition. Happy New Year!
xoxo
Thanks Jennifer! I know everything will be just fine, but it’s in my nature to stress over the small stuff! Great idea on the toddler box.
