Recently my little family had the opportunity to experience the lush luxuriance of the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa. We spent a leisurely afternoon soaking up the sun at their desert oasis of pools and water features. So fun!
We started out with a trip down the lazy river. I was a bit concerned how well this would go with our 2 year-old daughter, Jax. She’s never been on an inner tube and prefers to spend her time in the water splashing and jumping instead of relaxing and floating. My worry was short lived when we saw the resort offered double-sided inner tubes. This allowed my husband and I to share a tube and put her in the middle. She laid on her belly and got plenty of splashing in!

We took a break from the water to enjoy a poolside lunch brought to our shaded lounge chairs. The service was prompt, and surprisingly, our food came out quickly. It was delicious too!
Next we made our way to a small pool adjacent to a splash pad. This was where we ended up spending the majority of our day because Jax loved the splash pad, she preferred it to the pool. I thought it was brilliant to have one close to a pool allowing parents to swim and relax while keeping a close eye on their kids.
My husband and I took turns going to the slide because we could not pull Jax away from the splash pad. The slide was great, on the small side, but you still get good speed for a huge splash at the end. I love water slides and this one did not disappoint.
