Today while I tried to reorganize the pantry, Jax made a new friend. She became enamored with her new buddy and clutched him for hours.
Her new buddy is a potato. A small, red-skinned spud that fits perfectly in her chubby little hand.
When I tried to take the potato from her she screamed like I was stabbing her, so I let her hold on to it, thinking it would be forgotten in no time. I was wrong.
Her bud the spud accompanied us to her first gymnastics class today. Miss Jax and her tater were quite the distraction. She held on to it while she bounced on the trampoline. She cuddled it during her back and forward tucks. She dropped it and flipped out when she tried jumping in to the foam pit.
Pretty much every parent in that class stopped to ask me if she was holding a potato. Well, duh, isn’t it obvious?
“Come on peeps, nothing to see here, just a sweet, wobbly chubette and her beloved potato. Move along and help your kid with their forward roll.”
Jax became quite upset when some creepy kid swiped the spud and tried to take a bite out of it. She screamed (very loudly) in his face and he quickly surrendered her buddy. After that she held on to that potato for dear life.
Afterwards, the spud accompanied us to the grocery store and to Target. It even joined us for a nice long afternoon nap.
I have a weird kid.
The end.
“Come on peeps, nothing to see here, just a sweet, wobbly chubette and her beloved potato. Move along and help your kid with their forward roll.”
LMAO!!!!! Great post!!!
