Review: Mary Kay Clear Proof Acne System

Long ago I had decent skin, my teenage years saw little to no acne but black heads were always a nuisance. Enter my 30s and the raging hormones brought on by pregnancy and allowed to stay due to breastfeeding. My usually manageable T-zone skin now becomes an oil slick by mid-morning and fine patches of red acne have joined in the sprinkling of freckles on my face. And the black heads, oh the blackheads!

Because these new found skin problems are relatively new to me I have yet to find a cleanser, toner and moisturizer combo that works for me. I am often left feeling too dry or too oily and the black heads and small pimples are always there. The one saving grace of my problematic skin is my olive complexion, it hides my blemishes well but I am always self-conscious because I know they are there.

So I was more than a little excited when I was chosen by Influenster to try the Clear Proof Acne System from Mary Kay! I jumped at the opportunity and I’m excited to report after a mere two weeks I have seen some pretty drastic changes.

Clarifying Cleansing Gel: I use the gel when I shower every morning and every other night when I wash my face before bed. I find it to be a little too drying for twice a day use so that is the frequency I found that works best for my finicky skin. The gel is rich and clear and lathers up nicely for an immediate fresh clean.

Blemish Control Toner: I LOVE this toner. It is cool leaves my face feeling and looking refreshed and immaculate. I could see and feel a difference after ONE use. I used the toner after every shower and for night time washes. I use it all over my face, neck and décolletage. It’s amazing.

 Acne Treatment Gel: All I can say about this treatment gel is WOW! I used it on a large and persistent zit that had taken up residency on my forehead and after only two uses that nasty bugger shriveled and disappeared. Like magic! My husband, a long-time user of Clearasil “borrowed” my #ClearProof treatment gel and had the same quick results in zapping his zits.

Oil Free Moisturizer for Acne-Prone Skin: This is a light weight moisturizer perfect for oily skin. My skin soaked it up and looked dewey and radiant after every use. I used it after every face wash and loved the way it made my skin feel.

Clear Proof Cleansing Gel is clear and thick with a rich and clarifying lather.

Clear Proof Oil-Free Moisturizer was light and unscented and left my skin dewey and glowing!

The key ingredient in the cleansing gel and toner is salicylic acid which exfoliates the skin removing dead and dry skin cells that would otherwise clog pores and cause blemishes. The treatment gel contains oxygen-releasing benzoyl peroxide which kills acne causing bacteria.

None of the products have the harsh or chemically odors that I have found with other acne fighting lines.
