Local BBQ favorite, Famous Dave’s offers up a new, unique concept offering lunchtime diners smoked meat in minutes! Quick Que, debuted at the restaurant’s Mesa Riverview location a few weeks ago and the idea is brilliant.
The Quick Que is located within the restaurant’s dining room and upon entering guests will have the option of a fast, delicious lunch served at the counter or regular table service. The fast-casual concept offers daily specials featuring the smoked meats that have made Famous Dave’s, well…famous, in addition to made-from-scratch sides, and icy beverages. They will pay at the counter and take their meal to the dining room to eat. Quick Que allows those on a time crunch to enjoy a delicious, barbecue meal in a flash.
I recently visited the Riverview Famous Dave’s location in Mesa, to check out Quick Que and was very impressed! All the smoked meat delights served up quickly and efficiently.
I enjoyed the Que Brisket Tacos and jalapeño cheddar sausage, with creamy mac and cheese and street corn as my sides. Everything was absolutely delicious. The tacos were full of tender, melt in your mouth brisket, creamy chipotle cream that blended well with the savory smoke of the meat, herbaceous chimichurri and cotija cheese rounded out the tacos which were served in warmed corn tortillas. The sausage was excellent, nicely spiced with jalapeños and seasoning and the sides were perfect accompaniments to my barbecue lunch.
In addition to serving up fabulous food, the Quick Que counter also offers up a bit of interactive fun. The restaurant’s Pitmasters are at the helm, taking orders and slicing the meats. They happily answer questions and make recommendations. The fast casual concept allows diners to see their food being prepared.
I love the Quick Que concept and I’m hoping Famous Dave’s will soon offer it in all locations. Check it out I guarantee you will be impressed. How could you not be, famously delicious food served up fast!
