As a frequent visitor (and former resident) of the Desert Ridge area I am beyond thrilled that MidiCi – The Neapolitan Pizza Company has made a home in the area.
My family loves great pizza and MidiCi is turning out some pretty spectacular pies. I recently visited the place as part of a media dinner and loved it so much I returned with my husband and daughter two days later. It is that good.
The place is open, airy and immaculate with an open kitchen and a couple of golden hued wood-burning ovens firing pizzas at 1000 degrees. The intense heat ensures a perfectly crisp and blistered crust in just 90 seconds!
Pizza lovers will rejoice in the many varieties of pizzas ranging from spicy (Devil’s Pizza) to a meat laden pie (The Meats) to veggie (Pizza from The Garden). There is something on the menu for all, and if not you can build your own.
And where most pizza joints offer up some dried up parmesan cheese and maybe some red pepper flakes in a shaker to add some pep to your pies, MidiCi has a full bar of additions, like crushed fresh garlic, fragrant oregano, sea salt, fresh parm and herbs. A little goes a long way but the possibilities are endless!
The menu also boasts some pretty great starters and salads. I loved the fresh burrata with prosciutto and melon. YUM!
And do not, I repeat DO NOT miss out on one of the dessert calzones. I recommend the signature Nutella with cherry and ricotta. That perfectly crisply cooked pizza dough envelopes warm, gooey Nutella, creamy ricotta and sweetly tart cherries. It’s a wonderfully decadent desert, totally worth the splurge.
Desert Ridge has long been an area in desperate need of new places to eat and MidiCi is filling the void with perfect pizzas in a cool setting!
