ArmeniaFEST 2017

November 4, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 10:00 pm

St. Apkar Armenian Church invites the public to come and bring their appetites and their dancing shoes to ArmeniaFEST 2017. The Armenian community’s favorite annual activity is set 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Nov. 4 and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 5 at St. Apkar, 8849 E. Cholla St. in Scottsdale.

“This event is an opportunity for Arizona Armenians to celebrate our culture, but also a chance to share our culture with our community and get to know our neighbors,” said Rev. Fr. Zacharia Seribekyan. “Everyone is welcome to join us for food, music, dancing and more.”

The grills, kitchen and bake shop will be open throughout the event, emitting the mouth-watering smells that are characteristic of this nuanced cuisine. The festival features Armenian and Mediterranean music, singing and dancing, gift boutiques, kids’ fun and games, an art exhibit, and many wonderful raffle prizes.

A full complement of homemade Armenian food and desserts will be available, including kebab right off the grill, kufteh, sarma, boureg, lahmejune, hummus, tabbouleh, tourshi, gatah, pakhlava, bourma, nazouk, khadaif, ghourabia, choereg, perouk, and of course pilaf (see descriptions at the end). Armenian cognac, beer, wine and coffee will be available to make the epicurean experience complete!

St. Apkar is the only Armenian church in Arizona and recently celebrated the 8th anniversary of its consecration. It is located at 8849 East Cholla Street, Scottsdale 85260, just off the Loop 101. Admission to ArmeniaFEST is $2 and children aged 12 and under are admitted free. Parking is also free.
